Sleep

Kathy knew Akara would be training in the barracks as soon as the sun was up, well before the other soldiers and scouts were ready, all by herself. After seeing her steal those documents from the Commander's office last night, Kathy was determined to confront her, and possibly rise in rank from exposing a traitor.

The young soldier was still a novice, but had proven herself against orcs and trolls before, and felt a scout shouldn't be too much for her trusty hammer.

As she entered the barracks, she spat out her accusations at the slightly older girl:

"I saw you last night, Akara. Only soldiers are allowed in the castle, not scouts. I saw you take the plans. Admit it, you work for the enemy!"

"I do."

"You.. you don't even deny it? You're a traitor? Surrender to me or I will make you pay with your blood!"

"You are a bold little thing, I'll admit that, but you aren't smart. I saw you too yesterday, and I knew you'd confront me alone, hoping to take the credit for yourself, but you underestimate me vastly. I poisoned your water, and as we talk your strength is leaving you."

Kathy couldn't believe her ears. She did feel somewhat light headed, but could still hold her hammer firmly, so she decided to not waste any time and charged at the traitor.

However, after only a few strikes, which Akara easily avoided, she realized her muscles no longer obeyed her, and her body wanted nothing but to fall limply to the ground. She realized her hammer had fallen from her hands, and her legs were buckling, bringing her to the ground.

Just before she reached it, Akara caught the young soldier in her arms and held her against herself:

"Sleep my pretty. I have plans for you, we will travel far from here."

"No... I need to... destroy you.."

Akara laughed:

"Haha yes Kathy, strike at me in your dreams, destroy me as many times as you want in your mind, but for now your body is mine."
